I was immensely proud to work with Historic England on an internal film designed to highlight the organisation’s priorities and goals for the coming year.

 

Working within a very limited timeframe and budget, we developed a visual approach that embraced Historic England’s extensive archive of imagery while helping to tell the story of this remarkable organisation.

 

Will and the team conducted interviews with key contributors while documenting events with a handheld camera. They then assembled an initial edit and guide for me to build upon. Given the time constraints and the length of the film, as well as the strong archive we had access to, we chose a collage-based approach.

 

This style helped reflect the earthy, grounded nature of the organisation while allowing us to create quick, visually informative compositions. The result was a design-led film that relied less on heavy animation while still communicating the core of the story effectively.
