Wärtsilä needed a clear way to communicate the value of its Fleet Optimisation Solution (FOS)—a powerful digital platform designed to integrate systems and improve communication between ships, shore offices and ports. As a long-standing client, Wärtsilä approached Fifty One Films and myself to develop a concept and visual language for the film.

Rather than relying on familiar tech clichés such as code or binary graphics, we created a visual system based on rhythmic data patterns. Inspired by the client’s initial illustration reference, these patterns represented a sea of complex operational data, these patterns, would eventually resolve into organised, structured forms—visually reflecting how Fleet Optimisation Solution simplifies and streamlines maritime operations.
